Marnie at Three

Hi there,

I cannot believe that my baby girl, the one who made me a Mummy, turns 3 today. She is so grown up and still amazes us every day. Here's a little round up of how the last 6 months have been for Miss Marnie.

I've said before, and no doubt I'll say it again, Marnie is super stubborn and strong willed. She certainly has her moments but on the whole she is a lovely, good-natured little girl. She is very funny, she's got such a sense of humour and knows how to make us all laugh!

Marnie started pre-school back in September and it has been brilliant for her! There is so much for her to do and experience, more than I could give her at home. It's so lovely to see her flourishing and she has made a lovely group of friends there.

Most of the time, she is a lovely big sister to Polly! She often looks at her and says 'aww she's so cute!' Now Polly is more mobile (I'll do a one year update on her next month but she is very nearly walking!), Marnie can play with her. Their favourite thing to do together is empty all the cupboards of the play kitchen!

The sweetest thing is that if Polly is crying or tired (especially in the car) Marnie will sing 'Twinkle Twinkle' to her. It is Polly's favourite song!

Marnie still loves to dress up, her collection of dressing up clothes is huge! She loves joining in with films, her favourites are Jumanji and Matilda at the moment. In the car she likes to listen to and sing a long to The Greatest Showman and Mamma Mia. I feel I am raising her well when it comes to film and music choices!

Marnie goes to ballet on a Friday morning and absolutely loves it! She has come on so much since we first started going, she joins in with everything now.

Marnie loves reading and writing. The other day she wrote a perfect 'M', we had showed her before but she'd not wanted to have a go then all of a sudden she pulls it out of nowhere!

She's really taken an interest in technology and enjoys watching stories on YouTube on our phones. She has also been using the Kidlo* apps, they are fantastic as they have games, nursery rhymes and stories on them, She loves sitting and watching the nursery rhyme videos and her favourite game is one where you build a piece of fruit and then feed it to a monster! Leaving her my phone and this app to play with while I put Polly down for a nap has been super handy!

When it comes to food we are still going through the same fussy stage that she was at 2 and a half! Some days she does really well with food, others she's not so good. She loves pain au chocolat for breakfast (she even says it with a funny accent!), still a fan of sandwich, cheese and crisps for lunch and she likes bangers and mash for tea!

Thank you for a wonderful 3 years Miss Marnie, we can't wait to see what's next for you!
