Marnie at Two and a Half

Hi there,

Today, Marnie turns two and a half! I thought I would dedicate this post to her.

Marnie is super stubborn and strong willed. I know this will stand her in good stead throughout her life but right now it can be a real pain in the bum! She knows exactly what she wants and a lot of the time there's no reasoning with her. But, she is also the funniest child, she has me laughing so much!

If you have met Marnie or if you follow me on Instagram you will know that she literally never stops talking. Her speech is so good, it is like talking to an adult. I absolutely love that I can have proper conversations with her. Her memory is also amazing, which means she'll start talking about something that happened 6 months ago but she remembers it in perfect detail.

Marnie absolutely loves to sing and dance. She is quite shy about it though so tends to reserve this for when she's at home with us and we have disco's in the kitchen! Shes been walking since 14 months so is very confident on her feet. She has recently learn to scoot. I want to try and teach her to pedal on her trike next!

Her most favourite things are her Muzzy and Elsa (Compare the Meerkat Elsa!). She takes them everywhere. Unfortunately she chews her muzzy so we have to wrestle it off her to wash! She also loves playing with puzzles and small toys such as some miniature Frozen figures and mini Go Jetters. Her favourite thing to do though is dress up. We have a growing collection of princess dresses which she just loves to wear!

Her favourite books are still Lucie Goose and Duck in a Truck. She also loves Dear Zoo and  Yoga Babies. She has two stories before bed each night and one before her nap, but she likes to read between sleeps too!

She asks for the same lunch - sandwich, cheese and crisps! Her favourite dinner is pesto pasta with yogurt for pudding. She loves fruit, pear is her currenr favourite. She is hit and miss with food. Some days she does really well others she won't eat much. She still only drinks water or milk, we've not let her try squash or juice yet as we don't feel there is a need for it.

Marnie loves to watch and join in with TV and Films. Her favourite TV Programmes are Spirit, Word Party and My Little Pony which are all on Netflix. She loves Disney films, she likes Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and Snow White.

She is such a funny, lovely little girl and we are so lucky to have her in our lives.

  1. What a lovely post! She looks like such a sweetie, and shares many qualities with my 2 1/2 year old! How fast time flies hey? Enjoy every minute. Can't believe my big boy will be turning 5 in July! x

'It should be a head' - Polly's birth story

Hi there,

Today Polly turns 5 months old! I love reading a birth story, so I thought it about time I shared hers...
Sunday 26 November. Six days before my due date and it felt like any other day in the last few weeks of pregnancy. You wonder if today will be the day, but then you realise you've felt like this for the last 27 days. Marnie was 11 days early, so I'd convinced myself if this baby wasn't that early it would be really late.
We'd booked tickets to take Marnie to the cinema that morning. We went to see Olafs Frozen Adventure, the Frozen short and after that the full film was shown. We gave Marnie her compare the meerkat Elsa to take with her, a toy she'd had for a while but not been interested in, however Elsa Meerkat has not left her side since.
We had a lovely time at the cinema, we ate chocolate and had lots of cuddles. After the cinema we went home. Marnie had a nap and I can't remember what I did. Probably had a rest, watched some telly. When Mar…

Day in the Life with Nanny and Grandad

Hi there,

We are very lucky because all Marnie's childcare while I have been working has been either with us or her grandparents. Since she was 10 months old Marnie has spent 2 days a week with my Mum and Dad, Nanny and Grandad. Whilst I am on maternity leave Marnie is still spending one day a week with them so I can take Polly to a class.

This week I asked my mum to write a guest post for my blog about her day with Marnie as they were going to do something very exciting...

I'm delighted to be acting as a guest blogger for The Haymans today to tell you about a lovely morning we've had with Marnie now the Spring weather is finally here.
For Christmas I bought the girls a wooden flower trough each, which I personalised with their names. Marnie was very excited to arrive this morning and find them indoors, immediately spotting the M for Marnie.
Once mummy and Polly had headed off for their baby class, Marnie and I walked to Hook Garden Centre to choose flowers for their boxes. A…

BLW Review: Bibado

Hi there,

So next up in my series of posts about baby led weaning is a review of the fantastic Bibado! We were very kindly sent a Bibado to review when we started weaning with Polly. Please note this post does contain an affiliate link.

The Bibado is the only bib that straps to the high chair, this means that pesky gap where endless bits of food get dropped is covers. The Bibado is brilliant because it...

- Saves you time - less washing, cleaning, changing, sweeping and mopping is involved when Polly wears her Bibado! When she is done eating, I remove the Bibado and put it in a sink of warm water and washing up liquid to soak.

- Is baby safe. It is free from free from BPA, Phthalates and Azo-dyes.

- Catches all spilages meaning your baby is ready to go as soon as they have finished eating.

- You can take it anywhere with you. It folds into a small internal pocket. This is particularly handy if you've been eating out, you can just fold away the mess until you get home!

- Works with…
